I get reoccurring boils which has been going on for 2 years. i have done several i&d's but they keep coming up in different places. for those i do not do i&d's i usually self treat. i have taken a few courses of doxycycline but didnt help. any advice?

This occurs in smokers, if you smoke stop. Some people are constantly re-infecting themselves with their bath sponge, an old coat, dog, cat, and couch.

The recurrences suggest you are or are exposed to a carrier of the likely staph germ that triggers them. They often take residence in the nasal passages or on the skin. Adding 2x/d antibiotic ointment to the nasal entrance & a daily bath with 1 cup of bleach added can interrupt the pattern when combined with the oral antibiotic. Work with the doc on this.
