Ulcer Bacterium: This bacteria is widespread & causes 80-90% of all stomach ulcers (gastric & duodenal) 2/3 world's population has h pylori, many since childhood but much less frequent in usa. Some are asymptomatic, others have characteristic pain (beyond this answer's word count) it can be tested for in blood, with breath test or--best--during direct stomach exam and biopsy. 14 days antibiotics--3 types--is cure.
