What does it mean when my hands tingle and go numb?

If it is both: Hand at the same time, i would look to systemic causes. Common cause is hyperventilation, but it could mean a lot of other things that make your nerves or circulation go bad. Especially if it involves your lower extremities also. Time to go see the doctor.
