A member asked:

Is peripheral neuropathy associated with systemic scleroderma? had numbness and tingling in my hands & feet for almost one month. hasn't gone away, but has gotten worse. numbness can extend up to elbow sometimes. does this mean there's nerve damage?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Far from uncommon as at least 30% of all scleroderma patients develop a peripheral neuropathy within the first 10 yrs of the disease. The extent of "damage" can be objectified by an EMG-NCV study, but should be done by a physician with years of experience to be reliable.
