A member asked:

Is having imaginary conversations a form of ocd if these conversation go on all day when you don't want them to and you can't control it?

No: No, that's not an ocd. It sounds more like schizophrenia. I suggest seeing a psychiatrist for a detail evaluation and treatment.

Either/Neither/Both: Only a careful assessment can tease apart symptoms & provide accurate diagnoses. Someone can be diagnosed w/both schizophrenia & ocd. The association between the two disorders is complex & poorly understood. E.G. Someone witschizophrenia is far more likely 2develop ocd than someone without schizophrenia. But someone with ocd is no more likely 2develop schizophrenia than someone without ocd.
