Restarting ambien (zolpidem) after 3 months why is it not workibg any more?

Cause: The main reason i see for people having no response to Ambien (zolpidem) or similar medications at one time compared to another is because of the actual cause for the insomnia. Conditions like depression and anxiety that contribute to insomnia often cannot be helped with Ambien (zolpidem) or like medications. The actual treatment of the insomnia is to treat the underlying problem.

Zolpidem: One can build up a tolerance to zolpidem - but if it had been working fine before you stopped, that would not be an explanation. I agree with the earlier response- what are the causes of your insomnia? There could be a change in environmental factors.
