A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pre-eclampsia: High blood pressure caused by pregnancy is usually part of pre-eclampsia, which may progress to eclampsia with dangerously high pressures, seizures, and even death. Your doctor is ordering blood and urine tests, etc, to see if you show other signs of pre-eclampsia, such as protein in your urine. You should not be shy about asking him/her about your condition and the tests.
