It sounds as if you: May have impingement on sciatic nerve if going down the posterior leg. The pain u feel is a muscle spasm. This can interrupt blood flow to a site of inflammation that is actually causing the spasm. It's circular. Whether your stimulator in this area will relieve the spasm is hard to say also the nerve may be impinged further up. It's worth a shot, back pain is tough. Make sure sleeping at night.

Stimulators Safe: Massaging or stimulating your spasmed muscles should be safe. And if it improves your symptoms keep doing it. If it worsens them stop the stimulation. Other helpful treatments are gentle stretching, ice and/ or heat to the effected area.
