Syphilis: Nope. She is wrong. I don't mean to guess, but if your exposure is with men then you definitely need a test and maybe even testing every three to six months would be wise. If your sexual partner is female then testing once is fine and then only repeating the test is you change partners or have other possible exposure. The problem is that if your infection is in your mouth or anus no symptoms.
