Probably yes!: Good question. No one knows how common lyme is; experts estimate there are at least 10 times as many cases as officially reported, which could mean 300, 000 new cases a year. Many of these people are not diagnosed and some undoubtedly donate blood. Donated blood is not screened for lyme, so receiving donated blood definitely places someone at risk of getting lyme disease!
