Yes: There is every reason to believe that lyme disease can be transmitted via blood transfusion. This does not mean that someone with lyme will always transmit it; in patients with lyme PCR tests are often negative, meaning it is not always present in the blood, but it is at times and in that case is almost certain to be transmitted.Certainly some with lyme don't know it & donate blood & transmit it.
