How long does it take to totally heal from a sesamoidectomy?

Up to a year: The worst of the postop pain should be over in the first few weeks. It takes 3 months for the soft tissues to settle down and 6 months or more for the swelling to fully subside. Most people find that at a year they have put the surgery behind them.
