A member asked:

Approximately how long does the after-image last after an exposure of multiple strobe-like high intensity photo flashes against a dark setting?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Can take seconds to minutes, but it really depends on a number of factors: the light intensity, the time of exposure, and your retinal health. Light exposure bleaches out the rods and cones in your retina, and it takes time for them to recover. The longer the exposure and the more intense the light, the longer the recovery will take. Retinal disorders, such as macular degeneration, can delay it.
