Good question still : Debated in spine literature. Some studies suggest an increased risk & others do not. However, disc issues are fairly common to begin with & sitting, particularly driving, can put additional stress across discs of tj lower back as sitting generates 4 times one's body weight across those discs while spines & vehicles vibrate at the same harmonic frequency of 5 hertz leading to vibrational load too.
