Tendonitis: Tendonitis in the foot/ankle can be difficult to resolve, given the demands we place on them. Treatment may consist of antiinflammatories, icing, bracing and rest. See a podiatrist who can offer you a thorough exam and treatment.

Swelling and pain: This could be any number of things . If there is no bruising it could be gout. It could be tendonitis, or a stress fracture or a joint mouse. An exam and xray by a podiatrist will give you the help you seek. Good luck !

It hurts to the touch, even during sleep, and also any time I flex it. My parents think it might be tendon-related.
