Contact dermatitis: If you had a burn it would be painful, sound like the product you used caused an inflammatory reaction resulting in discoloration of the skin which will probally fade in time . Obviously you got advise from somebody if it wasn't a doctor i would see one.

See a dermatologist: Or podiatrist, try putting aloe on in and see if that helps. Stop using the cream in the event you haven't.
