Nerve conduction eye: These studies indicate the capacity of the nerves to effectively transmit information. The most common is one in which electrodes pick up the input from the eyes to the occipital lobe and can be used to determine vision loss origin for instance by multiple sclerosis.

Test visual pathway: Visual evoked potentials measure how long it takes for light signals to pass through the visual system and arrive at the back of the brain. Disruptions of the optic nerve or brain can cause these signals to be slowed or eliminated, narrowing down the list of possible diagnoses.
