A member asked:

Can having herpes prevent you from getting pregnant? also vb, i was just wondering please help

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Potentially Yes: Herpes by inciting inflammation may theoretically created impediments to sperm movement, and pain of herpetic lesions may reduce sexual frequency. Bacterial vaginosis could conceivably destroy sperm, and if the "infection" extends into the uterus and fallopian tubes there may be blockage to movement of the eggs down to the uterus. On the other hand there are many pregnancies in women with both.
