6days since tonsillectomy and i just tried to lightly gargle with plain water and it burned, what could this be? should i be worried?

Tonsillectomy: You have very large open wounds in your mouth after tonsillectomy. It is very common to have a burning sensation. Usually, the throat pain that you suffer after tonsillectomy will get worse before it gets better. Keep drinking a lot of fluid and it will eventually get better. Do be on the look out for bleeding as the pain you had with gargling could indicate the scabs are coming off.
