Tongue tie: Unfortunately, any surgery in the mouth is going to hurt quite a bit. The pain that you have now shouldn't be as bad as after tonsillectomy, but it will hurt. Healing is usually pretty quick, usually just a few days because the frenulum is a very thin delicate membrane underneath the tongue. Stituches usually dissolve, but you might ask your surgeon. Avoid carbonation, caffeine, citrus.

Usually heal : Sutures material can disolve and you need to know if you require a follow-up visit to remove. Call your dentist... Water is best and any acids should be avoided because of irritation.... Chuck.
