Most likely asthma: You need to see your physician again. This is most likely asthma, but could be post nasal drainage or acid reflux. You will likely need a maintenance inhaler in addition to ventolin, and a low to medium dose steroid inhaler would be most effective. Quitting smoking is essential, and, if you have asthma and smoke you can get emphysema or chronic bronchitis at an earlier age.See your physician.
