Yes and No: Some brown spotting can be normal with any period. However many people with pcos (polycystic ovarian syndrome) do not have regular ovulatory periods and abnormal bleeding can sometimes be a sign of problems with the lining of the uterus like hyperplasia, precancer or even cancer. It is important to see your gynecologist for evaluation and treatment to lower your risk for cancer and other issues.
