Renal parenchymal dz: Renal parenchymal disease is a phrase usually listed in reports from imaging studies, it is an imaging finding. If you truly have an imaging abnormality it does imply having chronic kidney disease (ckd). With only the phrase renal parenchymal disease, we can't guess on what stage of CKD a person has or the cause of the damage. You need to know what the cause of the abnormality is to treat it.

See answer: Renal parenchymal disease – often called medical renal disease – is a diagnosis made by ultrasound when there is increased echogenicity in the functioning renal tissue, and this correlates with impaired renal function. This finding should be correlated with renal function studies/ laboratory exams, and discussed with your dr. If it is not consistent, then perhaps repeat the us to make certain.
