Varies: Outcomes after hip surgery for your condition varies depending on the extent of the tear, location of the tear, whether tear is fixed or simply shaved down, age of the patient, just to name a few. Find and consult with an orthopaedic surgeon with extensive experience in treating this condition before making your decision. He/she will be able to tailor expectations to your individual situation.

Depends: The answer to this type of question always depends on the individual patient (preoperative health, associated medical conditions, etc) as well as the specific type of surgery being done. Presumably you are having arthroscopic hip surgery, which, for a healthy patient, can heal relatively quickly, with only a few days on crutches.
