When to get checked: With a deep wound, there are several possibilities for the white tissue. With your history, it is advisable to check in with your doc and possibly a wound care center. Good luck.

Not sure: Granulation tissue is red in color. If you have a deep wound this may be biofilm, fibrin or even slough. See a wound specialist.
