Birth mark removal: Since the birth mark is dark red in color, it most likely is of vascular orgin, meaning it may be amendable to laser treatments. The laser targets certain chromophores in the skin, in this case hemoglobin (blood) in the skin. Usually a nd-yag or ktp-yag laser, or a pulse dye laser is used for vascular lesions. He will probably need multiple treatments. Good luck!
