2-4 weeks: If the rash lasts longer than this, seems to be getting worse, or appears to be bothering your baby, she should be examined.

A good idea to see your Pediatrician. Sometimes the hormonal changes that occur during the newborn period may cause an acne like rash which can last 2--3 months.

10-12 weeks: The normal newborn acne or newborn rash can last 2-3 months. If the baby is irritated by it, scratching , itching, etc. Consult your doctor.

Multiple causes: There are many causes of newborn rashes. The change in exposure to maternal hormones via placental transfer may result in neonatal acne. No soap or lotion on the face is suggested. If there is drainage, redness or swelling, please see your pediatrician right away.
