Tendinitis: Achilles tendinitis could be cause. Need to be evaluated by a podiatrist or orthopod for correct diagnosis. Icing should help but do see a doctor.

Swelling: If the swelling is just to the back of ankles and no where else it can be achilles issue. If continues get it checked.
