Anti pest products: All plants are of course made of chemicals. But i think you are referring to chemicals like nicotine. Plants cannot move and so must defend themselves against being eaten or destroyed by static defenses such as thorns and noxious internal chemicals. Nicotine is an insecticide and that is why it is found in tobacco leaves.
