Would it be unusual or concerning for irregular periods to become regular with eating healthier?

Yes: Your ovaries make hormones that control your uterus. If you ovulate regularly, then you'll menstruate regularly. If not, then irregular periods. If overweight, weight loss may correct. Birth control pills will regulate your cycles, and often make them shorter and lighter. If difficulty conceiving, then fertility medications can correct ovulation.
