Can you please explain the healing process for athletes foot?

Antifungals: Athlete's foot will heal after successfully treating the fungal infection. This is usually done by topical antifungals, most of which are over-the-counter. Generally, a 1-2 week course of therapy, combined with good foot hygiene and powdering shoes will do the trick. Some severe cases may require oral antifungals, or even antibiotics for mixed infections.

SEE A PODIATRIST!: The best otc medication (in my opinion) is lotrimin (clotrimazole) ultra. Socks should be a synthetic material like those manufactured by thorlo [http://www.Thorlo.Com/]. Dilute vinegar soaks are good as well. Dry the inside of your shoes by placing them up-side down over an air return vent in your home overnight. There is a new shoe spray called "clean sweep" to sterilize the inside of your shoes too!
