Sweating lowers temp: During a fever, the offending bacteria or virus causes the body to release signals to your temperature regulatory center that your body temperature should be higher than normal. When you take medicine, and/or your body fights off the bug, the amount of these signals reaching your temperature center decreases. When this happens, your temperature is still high; sweating helps the body cool down.
