Gallstones: Can pass in the stool but they don't pass in the urine. The gallbladder connects to the small bowel via the cystic/common hepatic ducts. Stones can pass into the small bowel and then into the colon and, as such, pass in the stool. Kidney stones pass via the ureters and bladder and have no communication with the bowel.
