Varies: Some clot acutely for a variety of reasons.
If open, and over time, progressive atherosclerosis, and new plaque can happen in grafted vessels, other vessels, or in grafts.
Medical therapy, behavior modification, and reoperation are all considerations!

Early clogging: Use of antiplatlet agents and statin may help to increase graft patency. Early clogging can be from a number of causes. Surgeon and cardiologist should be able to figure out the cause of early closure of bypass graft. Balloon and stent can be deployed to open the artery or bypass grafts.
