A member asked:

Is it possible to be lactose intolerant and allergic to milk?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, but...: They are two different problems. Allergy to milk is caused by ige antibodies to milk proteins. Lactose intolerance is caused by inability to digest the lactose sugar in milk. While you could have both, it would be very unusual.
