Low sodium: Low sodium in the blood can cause nauseau, muscle cramps, low blood pressure, stroke and even confusion and disorientation. With extremely low sodium in the blood, you can get swelling in the brain as fluids shift to try to normalize the blood sodium levels in the tissue.
