A member asked:

Is it unhealthy to eat a very low sodium diet? i am a keeping track of my sodium intake, and it is less than 500mg daily.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

That is not easy..: Your body actually needs to have adequate amount of sodium to function normally and so too low can cause significant problems such as seizure, weakness, paralysis etc...500mg/day is actually a very difficult if not impossible task to achieve...As most food u eat contains some sodium..Just not known to you. The current rec is about 2500mg/day for the average joe...Good luck...
