What exactly does it mean when you are told that you have a trace of red cells in your urine?

Microhematuria: May be harmless, can be a sign of a urinary infection, interstitial cystitis or possibly a malignancy of bladder or kidney. Certainly worth getting a kidney 7 bladder ultrasound & possibly a cystoscopy (telescopic examination of bladder).
