Unlikely, unless...: Hormones can have an affect on mood, but unless the ovaries are removed along with the uterus, hysterectomy is unlikely to have a direct affect on bipolar disorder. However, a person has not come to grip psychologically with losing their uterus (e.g. Not being able to get pregnant again), then hysterectomy can trigger a depressive episode and thus destabilized bipolar disorder.
