By taking antibiotics before a tooth extraction does that mean i should not get an infection afterwards?

Antibiotic before: Sometimes, a dentist will give an antibiotic to help prevent an infection to settle in the surgical site (such as when placing an implant in bone). Otherwise, an antibiotic is taken because you already have an infection that has started to spread into tissues away from the tooth area.

Prevention!: Taking antibiotics before wisdom teeth removal does not means you will not get an infection. Antibiotics can help prevent infections, but proper post-surgical hygiene is more important in preventing infections. Following your dental surgeons instructions is paramount for uneventful healing.
