Certainly: Ectopic pregnancy goes unnoticed in the initial stages of the first trimester. The fetus has no place to grow if it is lodged in the fellopian tube instead of uterus. Unless an ultrasound is done in early pregnancy it may go undiagnosed until it ruptures.
