Many side effects: Prednisone has considerable risk with longterm use. That risk depends on the dose taken and the length of time it is used. Side effects include infection risk, weight gain, diabetes, bruisability, cataracts, osteoporosis, muscle weakness and sometime known as avascular necrosis.
