A member asked:

Is it normal if i sleep with my eyes open? is this harmless or is it a sign of some kind of facial atrophy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: Some people tend to sleep with their eyes slightly open, though there can be medical conditions that keep your eyes from closing during sleep. I recommend being seen by an ophthalmologist to be certain. An easy way to initially approach this is to close the eyes and gently apply paper medical tape to the upper eyelid and the cheek. It actually does not take much force to keep the lids closed.
