CLOT: Thrombosis = clot; deep vein thrombosis means clot in the deep veins.

Location plus.: Dvt or deep venous thrombosis (thrombophlebitis) is a clot in one of the deep veins in the body (legs or arms) such as the femoral, iliac, popliteal, axillary, subclavian, etc. Thrombosis is a clot that can be either in an artery or a vein anywhere in the body.
