Varies case by case: It is better known as fibromatosis or desmoid tumor since it is benign and is not a sarcoma (cancer). Mainstay of treatment is surgical excision, if it is feasible. Recurrence rate is rather high, so radiation is often given. If tumor cannot be removed safely, options include radiation, low dose chemotherapy and not doing anything and observing. Each case is different, so ask your doctor.
