Yes: Diabetes decreases your immune system's ability to fight infection. If you were to get the flu you could get sick enough to be hospitalized. You should get the flu shot.

Usually yes: Most medical experts would advise a person with a chronic medical problem to get a flu shot on a yearly basis. Unless there is a specific reason like egg allergy or a previous bad reaction, i regularly advise my patients with diabetes to get immunized against flu.
