Tonsil Stones: Tonsil stones, also called tonsilliths, are very common and are associated with clumps of bacteria and fungus, both of which often "grow" in the holes (crypts) located in the surface of the tonsils. Try gargling with warm salt water or using a waterpik. If stones persist, see an ear nose and throat surgeon. Tonsillectomy cures tonsil stones, also called cryptic tonsillitis.

Tonsil stones: Tonsil stones or "tonsilliths" are a collection of bacteria and old food trapped in the pits and cavities in the tonsil tissue. They often lead to halitosis and sometimes chronic sore throats. If you have deep pits in your tonsil tissue your will be predispose to creating them. Sometimes you can express them with q-tips or with very dilute hydrogen peroxide-water gurgles.
