Some options: Antiinflammatories like Motrin or aleve may help with minimal side effects. Topical Lidocaine also has minimal side efects and may help. Common side effects of neuropathic pain medications like Neurontin or Lyrica (pregabalin) are drowsiness and weight gain, and Cymbalta can cause nausea. You could also consider a sympathetic block which may help with symptoms without requiring a daily medication.
