A member asked:

Can you tell me if a male leaves a urinary catheter in for a long time will it damage the sphineter muscle?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CATHETER: The muscle can become weak but long-term damage not likely. It can erode through the tip of the penis causing traumatic hypospadias after years of wear and leave the bladder with a low capacity.
