Perhaps a bit: Antidepressants like Prozac (fluoxetine) take 2-4 weeks to really have a good effect. Once you have a therapeutic level, missing 2 weeks' doses could allow some depressive symptoms to return, especially if you stopped all at once. Restart your med or see your doc to discuss an alternate med if you feel Prozac (fluoxetine) wasn't working for you or if it caused side effects you didn't like.

Yes: Although Prozac (fluoxetine) is metabolized very slowly in the body, missing multiple doses can lead to a relapse. Most serotonin drugs are not effective until they are taken for several weeks in a row. Please take all medications as prescribed. If you cannot tolerate a medication due to a side effect, consult your physician on how to stop it.
